We’re pleased to offer yoga three days a week at the gym at Kambeitz Chiropractic Health and Wellness Center PC. Our yoga instructor, and massage therapist, Michelle Gorny explained some of the benefits of yoga for those who are interested in yoga for health and wellness.
Prevents cartilage and joint breakdown by taking your joints through their full range of motion, even into areas that aren’t used in daily activities. This keeps the joint capsule and cartilage healthy and wards off degeneration.
Nourishes your spine through the use of backbends, forward bends, and twists. Disks get their nutrients through these types of movements to stay supple.
Builds bone mass. It’s pretty common knowledge that poses like downward dog and upward dog help protect against osteoporosis. But did you know that yoga’s ability to lower stress also lowers your levels of cortisol, which can help keep calcium in your bones?
Regulates blood pressure. Just by simply watching your breath, you blood pressure drops.
Increases your attention span. Yoga trains your brain with the focus shifted to the sensations you’re feeling in the poses, enhancing your ability to focus outside of class.
Decreases built-up tension in limbs. Ever notice how hard you’re gripping the steering wheel, or clenching your jaw for no apparent reason? Practicing yoga brings your awareness to these areas of held tension and allows them to melt.
Room to breathe. The breathing techniques taught in yoga help you fully engage your lungs. This allows you to breath in more air, with fewer breath cycles, making your lungs more efficient in delivering oxygen to your tissues.
Soothes IBS and other digestive problems. The calming effects of yoga allow the body to focus on digesting your food.
Boosts inner strength. Yoga philosophy includes building the resilience to overcome old habits by trying new things. This branch is called ‘tapas,’ Sanskrit for ‘heat.’ Think of it as lighting a fire under your tush to get up and do something!
Encourages self care. We are used to the passive care we experience through conventional medicine. Practicing yoga requires you get involved in caring for your own body. No one is going to hold your body in the poses for you! You begin to make the connection that your commitment to moving makes you feel better. You are able to take a huge part in healing your body.
Our yoga classes are 1-2pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday; and Tuesdays from 7:15-8:15pm. Our classes are non intimidating and welcome never-ever, beginner, and experienced yogis.
We have touted Kambeitz Chiropractic as your one stop shop for health and wellness. Well now you can come experience all that yoga has to offer as we have added it back into our list of services. Our yoga instructor is none other than our very own Michele Gorny. Besides being a great massage therapist she also brings 15 years of yoga instruction to the mat. So bring your own yoga mat or use one of ours and enjoy the benefits of yoga.
Sessions are from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Each session is only $20.
Each year we have hundreds of patients mention knee pain or come in specifically after a knee injury. Chiropractic treats all the joints in the body and not just the back, so we have treatment that can alleviate pain and accelerate healing for knee pain and knee injuries.
Examining the Nerves Surrounding the Knee
One of the first things that we’ll do is look at how the nerves are firing and functioning with our scanning tool. The nerves control the energy to the knee area, which affects the rehabilitation to the knee area.
The Knee is Interconnected
We’ll also look if the hip and ankle joints are moving correctly, as they affect each other from the ankle up to knee down. If those joints are limited, such as rotation in the hip, the knee will be affected and prone to pain or re injury.
Treating Knee Range of Motion
In addition to adjusting the back, hips, and ankles that are contributing to the knee pain, we use our adjustment instrument to work on the range of motion. The instrument taps 12 times per second and when used on restricted tissue, it will work through to regain a normal range of motion.
Thanks for your interest to learn more about our Centennial Colorado clinic and the health and wellness services that we offer. We treat a lot of professional, amateur and youth athletes. Everyone from babies to 95, which is our oldest patient. Please join us for a tour by Dr Kambeitz of our clinic facilities as he explains them and treatments available.
8 Weeks to Wellness wall
When people come in we show them our 8 weeks to wellness wall. This is the pinnacle of what we do in our clinic here. We do blood work, pre- and post pictures, check range of motion, so it is a pretty good functional assessment of what is going on in their body. Now with over five years we have had over eighty people go through the program. And we can honestly say that everyone gets success through the program when they follow these principles. That’s a big part of our clinic here.
Massage Therapy Bay
We do myotherapy in our therapy bay area. We also do AIS – active isolated stretching, where we do stretching, improve range of motion, and enhance overall function. We also have two different massage rooms in here, so we have different types of massages offered in here and two different massage rooms.
In the gym we have a lot of functional modalities to increase function for participants, from seasoned athletes to first time personal training clients. It’s a great non-intimidating gym.
Supplements and Accessory Store
We have a variety of nutritional supplements and other products that we personally use and recommend including fish oil, vitamin D, CoQ10, and different supplements. The Ultrameal shake powder is used for snacks in our 8 weeks to wellness program.
Chiropractic Changing Rooms
When patients come in they will get a number 1-6, indicating which dressing room they will enter prior to their adjustment. They will leave their personal belongings in there including belts and contents of their pockets. When they’re done with their adjustment they can gather their belongings and use the mirror to make sure they’re ready for the rest of their day.
The exam room is where we will do exams visual x-rays, and a scan to see how their muscle and nervous system are functioning. We will do a BIA which measures body fat percentage, their phase angle, (which tells us cellular health), and how hydrated their bodies are. We also offer foot levelers orthotics if a patient needs custom orthotic inserts.
Chiropractic Adjustment Rooms
We have two different adjustment rooms. We can accommodate patients their choice of a manual adjustment or an instrument adjustment. The instrument adjustment is a nice option for patients who have never been adjusted and don’t know what to expect. The instrument also helps us work through a patient’s range of motion in a joint that has restricted movement. Other patients may have experience with manual adjustments, where the doctor uses their hands and adjustment tables to get the proper adjustment. Our adjustment rooms allow us to accommodate either technique or a mix of both.
Laser Therapy Room
We have a class four laser and we an erchonia cold laser. Laser therapy is great for treating chronic problems, and acute injuries. The laser works down to the cellular level and helps regenerate the cells and get an affected joint or muscle group moving better. It helps accelerate the healing process when used along with other modalities we offer.
The shoulder joint is a freely moving joint which makes it susceptible to certain injuries.
At our Centennial Colorado chiropractic clinic, we treat patients young and old, including athletes, who are experiencing shoulder pain.
As an alternative form of medicine we take a different approach than some other medicine professionals when treating shoulder pain.
The Initial Evaluation of Shoulder Pain
We use our spinal scanning device to measure muscle tension, which direction the muscles are pulling, and if there is heat and inflammation present with the shoulder injury.
We also evaluate x-rays to see how the nerves are functioning and firing. As you age, the disc space between your vertebrae shrinks and impedes the nerves’ ability to function and fire correctly.
How the Shoulder Joint Works
The nerve controls the joint’s function, mobility, and muscles.
We evaluate the location where the shoulder pain, as well as adjoining structures, including the shoulder joint, collar bone and shoulder blade. We will focus beyond the area of pain from the spine to the structures adjoining the shoulder.
Most patients with shoulder pain will have a limited range of motion as they stand straight and rotate their neck to look over their shoulder. A full range of motion allows you to look directly over your shoulder. Most people only have half of that range of motion as they look in either direction.
When your range of motion from your neck impeded, the nerves from your spine cannot fire correctly through the shoulder and arm.
Treating Shoulder Pain with our Computerized Instrument Adjustment
We have a computerized instrument adjustment that delivers 12 gentle oscillating taps per second, available at the clinic to treat various conditions including shoulder pain, by improving the range of motion so that nerves can fire correctly. Our chiropractors will place the instrument on the cervical spinal column, as well as the muscles that surround the shoulder, and lead you through the full range of motion of the shoulder while the instrument gently taps. The chiropractor will lead you through the full range of shoulder motion including internal and external rotation, abduction, flexion and extension.
Most patients need a few treatments to their treat shoulder pain, as each treatment progressively decreases muscle tension, range of motion improves, and nerves begin to fire correctly again, and ultimately decreasing pain.
